MIAMI SHORES, FLA. - Sophomore Isaih Harrison scored a
career-high 27 points and fellow sophomore Tim Johnson had his
first double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds as The
Apprentice School outscored Johnson & Wales 7-2 over the last
2:30 to take a 64-59 win at Miami Country Day School Friday night.
The win snapped a six-game losing skid for the Builders and
extended a winning streak over the Wildcats to five straight
victories.
In the first half, the Builders shot a frigid 28.6% from the
floor and trailed 32-24 at intermission. The Apprentice
School (5-6) found its shooting stroke connecting on 16-of-28 from
the floor (57.1%) and hit 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the foul line.
Johnson & Wales hit 11-of-26 from the floor (42.3%) in the
second half to help bring the Builders back into the game.
The teams were tied at 57-all with 2:30 left before the
Builders clamped down and held the hosts to a single field goal to
earn their fifth victory of the season. A Harrison 3-point
play gave the Builders a lead in the second half that they never
relinquished
The Builders will go for a Florida sweep on Saturday afternoon
with a 2 pm tip against Florida Memorial.
