WYOMING, DELAWARE - The Apprentice School closed out its 2007-08
season on Monday with a 12-stroke rally to take second place in the
Wesley Spring Invitational held at Wild Quail Golf Club.
After shooting a 335 on Sunday for a fifth place standing, the
Builders recorded a 309 to jump into second place in the eight-team
event with a 644 total. Apprentice School overtook Wesley B
(321 Monday-645 total), Neumann College (321-654) and Villa
Julie College (336-664). Wesley A team won the event with a
307 on Monday for a 604 total.
"I am very proud of how the guys closed this tournament out
today," said Apprentice School Head Coach Gary Crockett. "We
challenged them after round one to step their game up and they came
through with flying colors on a challenging course."
Junior Steven Ness was the low man for the Builders in the
tournament coming in fourth place with a 73 on Monday for a 151
total. Senior BJ Maben finished in a tie for fifth place
after shooting a 76 on Monday for a 153 total.
