WEST CHESTER, PA. - The Apprentice School women's basketball
team opened a four-game road swing on a tough note Saturday losing
to NCAA Division II Cheyney University 67-32.
The hosts opened the game scoring the first five points and
didn't look back as they jumped out to a 39-16 halftime
advantage. In the second half, Cheyney cranked up the
defensive pressure holding the Lady Builders without a field goal
for the final 7:20.
Sophomore LaTorya Grimes was the leading scorer for Apprentice
School with 10 points, while junior Tyisha Battle added seven
points and freshman Valerie Creecy matched her season high with 14
rebounds.
Apprentice School (3-5) closes out the first half of this road
swing by visiting Rocky Mount, N.C. to take on N.C. Wesleyan
College (0-4) in a 2 pm tipoff on Sunday at Everett Gymnasium.
