Ylexzis Traeger scored a game-high 25 points but the Lady Builders could not hold off a late Bridgewater College rally as they dropped their home opener 73-69 on Saturday afternoon.

ON THE COURT:

• The Lady Builders led by 11 points midway in the fourth quarter but Bridgewater went on an 18-3 run in the final six minutes.
• Ylexzis Traeger went 11-for-24 from the field for a game-high 25 points. The senior added seven rebounds.
• Quanisha Bruce posted a game-high 12 rebounds.
• The Apprentice School forced 28 turnovers with Tyne Innocent and Julissa Riddick getting four steals apiece.
• Bridgewater was led by Rebecca Harvey, who posted 16 points off the bench.

The Lady Builders will be back in action as they play Virginia State on Monday night before hosting Bluefield State on Thursday night at 5:30 p.m.
