PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Cornasia Lamberson finished with a game high 19 points as The Apprentice School women's basketball team took down Tidewater CC Saturday afternoon, 58-52.
A sluggish start for both teams highlighted the first quarter with the Storm taking a 10-4 lead at the 1:34 mark of the first quarter before the Builders finished the quarter on a 6-1 run to trim the lead to just one at the end of the first quarter. The two sides traded leads throughout the second quarter with the Builders holding a 24-23 lead at intermission.
Apprentice opened the third quarter on a 6-0 run to extend the lead to seven, but TCC never went away, not allowing the Builders to obtain a double digit lead at any point during the contest.
Lamberson's 19 points came on 6-of-8 shooting and 7-of-9 from the charity stripe.
Dajanelle Linton-Robinson had a double-double of 12 points and 10 boards, while
Joy Wright put up 11 points.
The Builders next game is currently scheduled for December 6 at home against Christendom. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m.
