NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School Department of Athletics has opened up sales for football single game tickets and tailgating packages.
All single game tickets are $10 each. Apprentice Athletics Booster Club members will get season tickets to all home regular season events, including all five home football games, as part of their membership, which goes on sale August 1.
After hearing fan feedback on tailgating last season, the Department of Athletics has increased the amount of VIP tailgating spots available this season by 50%. Tickets for VIP tailgating spots have increased slightly, but now include four game tickets as part of the package valued at $80. A season pass for the VIP tailgating area comes in at $375 with four tickets to every game included in that price.
Tailgating spots in the parking lot area of the football stadium will be $25 each or $100 for the season. These tailgating spots do not include game tickets as they are outside of the ticket gates.
New this year to tailgating will be the ability to use grills of any kind. Fans will be asked to exercise caution in using grills, especially in the VIP tailgating area that is grassy. No alcohol is permitted anywhere on NNS property.
The season kicks off September 13 as the Builders will take on N.C. Wesleyan at 1 p.m. with tailgating opening at 10 a.m. that morning. The national championship winners from last year will be recognized at halftime of the game.
