NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School women's basketball team saw its six-game winning streak come to a halt in a 64-57 loss to Cheyney Sunday afternoon.
After three quarters of back-and-forth basketball saw the two teams tied at 49-49, Cheyney buckled down defensively to hold Apprentice to just eight points in the final frame, finishing the game on an 8-0 run over the final four minutes of play to earn the win.

Dajanelle Linton-Robinson each had double-doubles for the Builders. Berry finished with a game-high 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Linton-Robinson had 10 points and 11 boards.
NeOndra Kelly had a career-high 14 points, her first collegiate game in double figures.
The Builders will open the MLK Classic at home on Friday against Denmark Tech at 5 p.m.
