Baseball Sweeps Through Bucks County CC

HAMPTON - In a pair of close games Sunday, it was The Apprentice School coming out with a pair of wins against Bucks County CC.

GAME 1 - AS 4, BCCC 3 (9 inn.)
No score was had until the fourth inning when the Builders scratched a pair across. Isaac McCallister scored on a wild pitch before Nate Yeary brought home Baker Green to take a 2-0 lead.

The Centurions answered just one frame later on a two-RBI single, but the Builders struck right back with a Landon Turner single to retake the lead, 3-2. After Bucks tied it in the sixth and neither team could score through seven, it was AS who broke through in the ninth inning. Jett Winslow walked the game off with a single to right field that scored Jordan Higgins to get the win.

Grant Stratton (2-1) got the win in relief, tossing four innings of shutout baseball, fanning two and allowing just a pair of base runners.

GAME 2 - AS 3, BCCC 1
Again, the Builders were first to score, although this time it was in the first inning as Jackoson Thomas singled to score Yeary to make it a 1-0 game.

Turner broke through again in the third inning with a RBI double to score Yeary again, while Seth Harrison brought home Jackson Thomas on a triple in the sixth to get a 3-0 advantage. The Centurions scratched one over in the seventh before McCallister shut the door.

Brayden Hayes (7-0) got the win, tossing three innings after Charley Higginbotham's scoreless three frames. Both pitchers struck out three, while McCallister got the save, getting the final two outs.

The Builders will be in action again on Tuesday at 5 p.m. for Senior Day against Camp. Senior Day festivities will begin around 4:30 p.m.
