Biography

Career: Packert was named 2nd Team VaSID Shortstop, 2nd Team VaSID Relief Pitcher, and 2nd Team USCAA All American in 2018-2019 season. Awarded Apprentice Schoool Baseball MVP of the 2019-2020 season. 

2018-19- Started and played all 42 games. Led the team with 7 homeruns and recorded 37 RBIs ending the season with a .379 batting average. Of the 42 games played, he made 17 pitching appearances. Had the highest number of saves at 7. Out of the 19.1 innings pitched, he recorded 35 strikeouts and no runs allowed, finishing the season with a 0.00 ERA.

2019-20. Started and played all 19 games, had 60 at bats and 19 hits. Recorded 2 homeruns and 13 RBIs finishing the season with a .317 batting average. Had 4 appearances on the mound finishing the season with 1 win and 2 saves. In 8.0 innings pitched he allowed 2 hits, no runs and 18 strikeouts finishing the season for the second year in a row with 0.00 ERA. 

Thomas is a graduate of Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, VA. He would spend his first three years of college at Christopher Newport. In his first season, Thomas was sidelined due to Tommy John surgery. In his second season, Thomas won the conference Rookie of the Year. The following season he earned 1st Team All Conference honors and All Region Pitcher honors. Thomas is the son of Michael and Joanne.
