Mason Tatum enters his second season as Quarterbacks Coach and Academics Coordinator at The Apprentice School, while also taking on a new role in 2026 as Co-Offensive Coordinator.
A native of Ashburn, Virginia, Tatum is a 2019 graduate of Stone Bridge High School. He began his journey at The Apprentice School in 2019 as an X15 Heavy Metal Fabricator Apprentice before advancing through the Advanced Salary Optional Program (ASOP) as an O68 Metrology Apprentice, graduating as a member of the Class of 2025.
A record-setting quarterback during his playing career at The Apprentice School, Tatum earned USCAA All-American honors and remains one of the most decorated players in program history. He holds Apprentice School career records for passing yards, passing touchdowns, total touchdowns responsible for, and total offensive yards, along with single-game records for passing yards (455) and passing touchdowns (6).
Now transitioning that on-field success into a coaching and mentorship role, Tatum brings a rare combination of record-breaking playing experience, academic leadership, and offensive expertise to The Apprentice School coaching staff.
