Ra'Shaad Banks, a Newport News, Virginia native and a proud graduate of Heritage High School, where he was a four-year football letterman. He continued his playing career at North Carolina Wesleyan College as a defensive back before a knee injury brought his playing days to an early end.
Driven by his passion for the game, Banks transitioned into coaching and has spent years developing student-athletes throughout the Hampton Roads area. He began his coaching career at Warwick High School, where he spent eight seasons, including three as Offensive Coordinator, a stretch that saw the Raiders earn a playoff appearance in each of those seasons. Banks went on to serve as Defensive Coordinator at Bruton High School in Williamsburg before joining Bethel High School as Defensive Backs Coach, continuing to mentor and develop young athletes both on and off the field.
Away from football, Banks served as a police officer with the Portsmouth Police Department, bringing the same values of discipline, leadership, accountability, and service that now define his coaching philosophy.
Now a member of The Apprentice School football coaching staff, Banks is committed to developing fundamentally sound players while helping young men grow as leaders of character both on the field and in their communities.
