Builders Knock Off Generals and Knights In Tri-Match

LEXINGTON, VA. -- Sophomore Daniel Hare's pin with 46 seconds left in the 184-pound match gave the Apprentice School a 22-21 victory over Washington & Lee University in a dual match on Wednesday night in Lexington.

In their other match on Wednesday night, the Builders defeated National Collegiate Wrestling Association rival Southern Virginia 42-20.

Against the host Generals, the match started at 197 pounds and the Builders opened with freshman Quentin Bowling recording his fourth win by pin this year defeating Zak Colangelo in 4:48 for a 6-0 lead. After four losses by decision put the Generals ahead 12-6, senior Ty Holley earned the first bonus point victory with a major decision over JP Welch 11-2 to cut the deficit to 12-10 after 141 pounds.

Freshman Ricky Anderson recorded his 13th victory by pin this year with a fall in 2:09 over Keith Jaworski at 149 to give the Builders a 16-12 lead.  From there the host scored three straight victories by decision to hold a 21-16 lead heading into the deciding 184 pound match.

Hare earned his seventh win by fall with his win over Richard Knack in 6:14 to give the Builders their tenth victory
