HARRISONBURG, Va. - The Apprentice School women's basketball team struggled to score in the third quarter as Eastern Mennonite pulled away to win, 70-48, Friday night.
The Builders led 12-10 after one quarter of play and led by six midway through the second quarter, but the Royals went on a 40-15 run over the rest of the second and the third quarters to establish their lead that they would not relinquish.
Jada Bryant led the Builders with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds, while
Jada Eleby had 11 points off the bench.
Ashawnti Williams was one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 13 boards.
The Builders will be back in action against Virginia Union at home on Tuesday at 5 p.m. Fans are asked to bring in an unopened, unwrapped toy to benefit the GiveBack Foundation as admission to the game.
