FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Apprentice School men's basketball team jumped out in front early and held on late to defeat Methodist Tuesday night, 70-68.
After a back-and-forth early portion of the game, the Builders used a 7-0 run to push their lead out to eight. Apprentice led by as many as 12 in the first half, but the Monarchs fought back to cut the lead to two with a free throw opportunity under three seconds to play. Methodist missed the free throw and got the offensive rebound, but could not convert, giving the Builders the tough road win.
Karree Smith led all scorers with 20 points, while
Adrion Wall added 18.
Isaiah Jones put up 12 off the bench.
The Builders will next be in action Saturday when they host Cheyney at 2 p.m.
