NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School baseball team and head coach Ben Jones has announced the 2024 schedule of games ahead of the season opener in two months at War Memorial Stadium.

The season kicks off with a bang as MACU comes to town for the New South Athletic Conference opener on February 7. The Builders will continue their season-opening 10-game homestand with a four-game weekend series against VPCC February 9-10 before another weekend series against Penn State Mont Alto February 17-18.

After a quick trip down to Bryant & Stratton for a midweek twinbill on February 21, Apprentice is back home for another six games at War Memorial, starting with four against Bucks County CC February 24-25 and wrapping up with a doubleheader against VPCC on March 2.

The Builders will take their annual trip to Myrtle Beach for six games March 7-9 before returning home for seven straight, starting with a doubleheader March 13 against Bryant & Stratton and a four-game set against Saint Vincent March 15-16. The homestand wraps with a single game against MACU on March 22 before heading down to take on the Mustangs in a doubleheader the next day.

Apprentice will then enter one of the tougher stretches of the season, battling Southern Virginia in a home-and-home on either side of four conference matchups against Virginia State, two on the road and two at home. The regular season ends with a four-game conference series against Lighthouse, a home-and-home against Paul D. Camp, and senior day at home April 25 against VPCC.

The NSAC Tournament will be held May 1-5 at the home of the Wilson Tobs in North Carolina.
