PITTSBURGH - The Apprentice School women's basketball team had third quarter woes in a 60-44 loss at Carlow Saturday afternoon to open the 2024-25 season.
Down just nine at halftime, the Builders were only able to score five points in the third quarter and were only 1-for-10 from the floor in the period. Apprentice was able to settle down in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics were able to trade buckets with the visiting team to hold on to the season opening win.
Nyla Jackson led the way for Apprentice with 16 points, hitting three of her five shots from distance.
Dajanelle Linton-Robinson had 13 points in her collegiate debut, recording a double-double with 11 boards as well.
Carlow was led by Emari Stinnette who had a game-high 20 points off the bench.
The Builders will be back in action next weekend at the PSU Beaver Tip-Off Saturday and Sunday.
