Wrestling Set to Host NCWA National Duals

NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School wrestling team is set to host the 2025 NCWA National Duals starting Friday morning at the Apprentice Athletic Center adjacent to the football field. The tournament will last through Saturday afternoon.

Tickets for the event are on sale with day passes at $25 and a tournament pass good for all action Friday and Saturday at $40. Tickets can be purchased at GoBuilders.com/ticketing.

The Builders are the top seed in the event and will wrestling at 9 a.m., 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday out of Pool A. Their pool will have them wrestling third-seeded Thomas More, fifth-seeded Central Florida and seventh-seeded Colorado State on Friday. Pool B is headlined by second-seeded Liberty, who will go up against fourth-seeded Life, sixth-seeded Washington State and eighth-seeded East Carolina throughout round robin pool play on Day 1.

Saturday's action will begin at 9 a.m. with the teams seeded in the bracket based on pool play results. Quarterfinals will be at 9 a.m. with semifinals at 12 p.m. and the championship round at 3 p.m. Consolation semifinals and the fifth and seventh place matches will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., respectively.

The women will also compete in extra matches throughout the weekend, mainly on Mat #3.
