NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Three members of The Apprentice School wrestling program were recognized by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) with College Division All-State honors, as announced by the organization.

David Norris (149 lbs) and Owen Cherry (165 lbs) were named First-Team All-State, while Logan Eastman (174 lbs) earned Second-Team All-State recognition.

Norris capped another impressive season by placing in the top six at the Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championships to qualify for the NCWA National Championships. At nationals, he secured his second career All-America honor by winning a hard-fought 2-1 decision in the third-place match.

Cherry captured the MAC Championship at 165 pounds, advancing to the title bout with two victories by fall before claiming a 9-5 decision in the championship match. He followed that performance with an eighth-place finish at the NCWA National Championships to earn All-America honors.

Eastman, who also claimed a MAC Championship, posted a perfect 3-0 record during the conference tournament. He carried that momentum into the NCWA National Championships, where he finished the event with a 3-2 record, including a victory by pin in his final match.

VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
