STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - The Apprentice School golf team wrapped up the fall season with a runner-up finish at the 2025 USCAA National Championship Tuesday afternoon.
The Builders shot 315-304 in the tournament, marking their best finish at nationals since winning the tournament in 2006. The runner-up finish marks the third top-3 finish in the past four years and four top-5 finishes since 2017.
Chris Ivey finished the tournament as a second team All-American, finishing tied for ninth individually. After a 9-over 81 in the first round, Ivey stormed back, firing a 1-under 71 on the final day of the tournament to climb 30 spots up the leaderboard to capture All-American status. He was one of just three players to shoot under par on Tuesday.
Three Builders also earned All-Academic status as
Kai Crockett,
Dylan Liakos and
Richard Locklin all qualified for All-Academic Team honors.
Winning the team title was Southern Maine CC, who was the only team to shoot under 300 in a round this tournament. The Sea Wolves won the tournament by nine shots over the Builders. Maine at Augusta finished in third, four shots back of Apprentice, followed by Kent State Tuscarawas and Penn State York rounding out the top five.
Individually, PSU York's Dillon Yinger won the tournament at 1-under for the 36-hole event.
The Builders will return to the course in the spring.
