Defending NSAC Champions Unveil 2026 Fall Golf Schedule

6/17/2026 9:00:00 AM

NEWPORT NEWS  – The Apprentice School Athletic Department has announced the 2026 fall golf schedule as the Builders prepare to defend their New South Athletic Conference (NSAC) championship and build upon a national runner-up finish from a season ago.

The Builders are coming off a historic 2025 campaign that saw the program capture the NSAC Championship and finish as the runner-up at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship. The success marked one of the strongest seasons in program history and established The Apprentice School among the nation's premier USCAA golf programs.

"Our student-athletes set a tremendous standard last season, and we're excited for the opportunity to compete against another strong schedule this fall," said Head Coach Joey Maben. "Each event on our schedule will help prepare us for the postseason as we pursue another conference championship and compete for a national title."

The 2026 slate features five events, including a home tri-match in Suffolk and championship opportunities at both the conference and national levels.

The season opens Sept. 5-6 at the SUNY Delhi Bronco Fall Invitational in Delhi, New York, before the Builders return to Virginia for the Bridgewater College Invitational on Sept. 14-15 in Harrisonburg.

The Apprentice School will host its lone home event of the season on Sept. 21, welcoming competitors to the Apprentice School Tri-Match in Suffolk, Virginia.

Postseason competition begins Sept. 28-29 when the Builders travel to Pensacola, Florida, seeking to defend their title at the New South Athletic Conference Championship. The season concludes Oct. 12-13 at the USCAA National Championship in Williamsburg, Virginia, where Apprentice will look to improve upon its national runner-up finish from 2025.
