VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - The Apprentice School men's basketball team dropped a non-conference affair Wednesday night at Virginia Wesleyan, 91-63.
After the Marlins and Builders traded baskets on their opening possessions, VWU reeled off a quick 7-0 run to take control of the game. The Marlin lead hovered around 10 points for a majority of the first half until late when the home team hit four three pointers in the final three minutes of the half to take a 43-29 lead into intermission.
The second half is where VWU pulled away, using their physicality and hot shooting to stretch the lead out quickly.
Jabari Brackett led the Builders with a game-high 20 points, while
Devon Brown had a double-double of 15 points and 12 boards.
Shamon Rosser added 10 points.
The Builders will look to bounce back Saturday at Methodist with tipoff slated for 4 p.m.
