LOUISBURG, N.C. – The Apprentice School Builders swept the New South Athletic Conference (NSAC) weekly football awards for the week ending Oct. 11, the conference announced Monday. Quarterback Patrick Chewning earned Offensive Player of the Week, kicker Logan Eastman took Special Teams Player of the Week, and Leslie Hines was named Defensive Player of the Week.
The trio powered the Builders to a 16-15 win over Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
Chewning returning to the field following an injury absence picked up right where he left off, completing 9 of 16 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown to Isaiah Townsend.
Eastman was perfect on the day, connecting on all three field goal attempts, including a long of 33 yards, and adding the extra point on the Builders' lone touchdown. He accounted for 10 points of the Builders' 16 points. He also averaged 61.8 yards on four kickoffs, with two touchbacks.
Hines led the defense with 10 total tackles, eight of them solo, including one tackle for loss. He also made his mark on special teams by blocking an extra point attempt, a play that proved critical in a one-point game.
The Builders return to action Oct. 17, traveling to La Plume, Pa., to face Keystone College at 1 p.m.
