NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Three members of The Apprentice School baseball team were recognized by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) with College Division All-State honors, as announced by the organization.

Pitchers Nick Redman and Grant Stratton earned First-Team honors, while head coach Ben Jones was named Coach of the Year.

Redman, who completed his senior season, compiled an 11-1 record with a 2.00 ERA, striking out a team-high 92 batters over 84.0 innings while limiting opponents to a .221 batting average in 2026. During his career as a Builder, Redman boasted an impressive 30-5 record with 274 strikeouts over 250.0 innings pitched.

Stratton, a second-team All-North South Athletic Conference honoree, anchored the bullpen with a 0.79 ERA and eight saves, recording 49 strikeouts in 44.1 innings and holding opposing hitters to a .149 batting average.

Jones was named VaSID College Division Baseball Coach of the Year after guiding the Builders to a remarkable 41-6 overall record and the 2026 USCAA Small College World Series Championship.

VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the state of Virginia.
