NEWPORT NEWS – The Apprentice School baseball program has announced its 2027 schedule as the Builders prepare to defend their United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series championship.
Coming off a historic 2026 campaign that culminated with the program's fourth USCAA Small College World Series title, The Apprentice School enters 2027 with high expectations and a challenging slate that includes conference contests, regional rivals, and postseason opportunities.
"We are excited to announce our 2027 schedule and begin the journey of defending our national championship," said Head Coach
Ben Jones. "Our apprentice-athletes have embraced the challenge ahead, and this schedule will prepare us to compete for another championships next spring."
The Builders will open the season on February 19 with a three-game road series against South Carolina Central Christian College in Columbia, South Carolina. Conference play continues throughout the spring with matchups against Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Denmark Technical College, and Virginia State University.
The home schedule features 24 contests at War Memorial Stadium, including visits from Penn State Mont Alto, Saint Vincent College, Bucks County Community College, Regent University, and several conference opponents.
Following a spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the Builders will continue New South Athletic Conference competition before concluding the regular season with road contests against Regent University.
The postseason begins with the New South Athletic Conference Tournament from April 29-May 1 in Smithfield, North Carolina. The Builders will then seek to defend their national title at the USCAA National Tournament in DuBois, Pennsylvania, beginning May 10.
