ON THE FIELD: The Apprentice School closed its three-day swing to Vero Beach by splitting a doubleheader on Saturday with NCAA Division III Bridgewater State University losing the opener 2-0 and winning the nightcap 6-3.

In game one, the Builders fell victim to the standout pitching performance from Andy Sadoski who threw seven innings and only allowed two baserunners.  Freshman Kelmin Escalera threw a solid outing for the Builders striking out six in six innings and allowing eight hits.

The nightcap saw the Builders put up four runs in the first inning as Brock Harris and Christian Burton drew walks before a single from Chris Aldridge loaded the bases.  Brian Belvin cleared them with a triple and he later scored on a RBI single from Zach Harding.

In the fifth, the Builders struck for two more as Belvin and Lee Rossi started the inning with singles and each advanced on a sacrifice bunt from Thomas Dudley.  Harding followed with a two-run single for the 6-3 lead.

Harris was the starting pitcher for the Builders and he went the first four innings allowing seven hits, three runs and struck out two.  Sam Massie came in and threw the final three innings and struck out three.

Aldridge, Belvin, Rossi and Harding all had two hits apiece for the Builders.  Belvin and Harding each drove in three runs.
