IN BRIEF: The Builders had three wrestlers go 5-0 on the day as they broke the school single-season record for dual match wins taking five wins at the Builder Duals on Sunday morning.
MATCH #1 – Apprentice School 27, Penn St. Mont Alto 24
- The Builders trailed 11-6 after losing at 149 pounds, but freshman Landon Leithauser got the Builders ahead with a win in 3:25 at 157 pounds to hold a 12-11 advantage.
- Mont Alto responded with the next three wins as a victory by decision at 184 put them up 24-12. The hosts took the final three bouts as Kenny Lowry won at 197 by fall in 3:49 and Shakeem Lassiter took a 3-1 decision at 235 pounds. The guests forfeited the heavyweight match giving the Builders a 27-24 win.
MATCH #2 – Apprentice School 39, Longwood 12
- After each team took a forfeit win in the first four weight classes, the Builders scored wins in the next four bouts and six of the final seven for a 39-12 win.
- Robert Saunders (157/4:36), Chris Kennedy (165/3:25) and Kyle Lowry (174/6:22) won by fall to propel the Builders to a 24-6 lead heading into the final four weight classes.

- The Builders scored four individual wins in the match as Leithauser won at 165 pounds in 2:52 and Lenny Lowry won at 197 pounds in 2:47.
- Kennedy scored a win by tech fall at 149 pounds by a 17-2 score and Cameron Vaughne took a 13-10 decision at 174 pounds as the Builders scored a 44-0 win.
MATCH #4 – Apprentice School 27, James Madison 18
- The Builders took a forfeit win at 125 pounds before the Dukes scored decision wins at 149 and 157 pounds to tie the score at six.
- Kyle Lowry put the Builders back up with a 5-0 decision at 165 to lead 9-6. Each team then traded six-point victories in the next three bouts as Kenny Lowry won by fall in 1:20 at 184 pounds. The final three bouts were forfeits with the Builders winning two of those for the 27-18 win.

MATCH #5 – Apprentice School 28, East Carolina 22
- The Builders started the final match with Jacob Michael won at 125 pounds by a fall in 6:02 to take an early 6-0 lead.
- East Carolina took wins in the next three matches, two by forfeit and one by a 12-5 decision at 149 pounds to take a 15-6 advantage.
- Apprentice School answered with four wins in the next five bouts. Kennedy moved up to 197 pounds and scored an 8-4 win over Brandon Prevatte to give the Builders a 22-19 lead.
- That win proved huge as the Builders lost a 3-2 decision at 235 pounds which tied the match at 22-all. Ian Jones scored a win by fall at heavyweight in 1:33 to give the Builders a 28-22 win.

With the five wins on Sunday, the Builders broke the school record for most dual match wins in a season as they now have a 22-5 record. The 2010-11 team set the previous mark for most wins with a 20-8 dual match record.
BEHIND THE SCORESHEETS
Three Builders went 5-0 on the day as Jacob Michael (125 lbs), Kenny Lowry (184/197) and Ian Jones (285) had a perfect afternoon for the Builders. Shakeem Lassiter (235) was 4-1, while Landon Leithauser was 3-1 at 157 and 165 pounds.
SENIOR DAY
Prior to the East Carolina match, the Builders honored the two seniors on the 2014-15 team – Kenny Lowry and Ian Jones.
NEXT UP – USCAA WEEKEND
The Builders are now off until the weekend of Feb. 14 when they travel to Pennsylvania. On Valentine's Day, they'll have a dual match at Penn State DuBois at 3 pm. The next morning they'll participate in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Invitational which will be held at State College, Pa.
