Box Score Hampton, VA – After taking the first two games of a 3-game series, the Apprentice Baseball team was looking for the sweep on Monday afternoon at Historic War Memorial Stadium. Their offense has come alive in the past dew games, but Bucks County had intentions of heading back up north by stealing one from the Builders.
Apprentice fell behind 3-0 early, but in the bottom of the 3rd inning, their bats woke up as they scored 4 runs to take the 1-run advantage. They would add another in the 4th inning, but Bucks County tied things up and going into the 8th inning, the Builders hitters came to the plate with a purpose. Braden Lambert came to the plate and hit his 2nd HR of the game to break the tie and then after a series of wild pitches, Apprentice scored 2 more runs to make it 8-5, which would end up being the final score, giving them the series sweep.
Lambert's 2 HR's led the Builders, while going 2-2 with 5 total RBI's. Thomas Packert also had a productive outing, going 2-4 with 2 runs and an RBI. He also finished the game one the mound helping secure the win. Apprentice will return to action Thursday March 10th, when Castleton makes their second trip to Historic War Memorial Stadium.
