Box Score Elizabeth City, NC - Andrew Castine pitched six innings, only giving up 1 to pick up the win, while Thomas Packert earned the save, as the #1 seed Apprentice School Baseball Team defeated #4 seed Mid-Atlantic Christian, 3-2, to earn the right to move onto Wednesday's winner's bracket game in the New South Athletic Conference (NSAC) Tournament. The win was the 18th of the season for the Builders and they will face #2 seed Virginia State for the right to move on to the Championship game.
NSAC Player of the Year, Maxwell Burcham, and All-NSAC Selection, Braden Lambert, led Apprentice, each finishing the game 2-4 from the plate. Burcham also finished with an RBI, while Lambert corssed the plate for one of the Builders' three runs. In addition to earning the save, Packert also went 1-4 on tthe day, with a run. Hunter Riss came in the game and drove a run in his only at-bat of the day.
Wednesday's game against VIrginia State will start at 10:00am, with the Winner advancing to Championship game at 4:00pm. If another game is needed to crown the winner, it will begin at approxiamately 7:00pm. Due to the threat of inclument weather, all games will be played on Wednesday.
