Baseball sends Seniors out on a winning note with win over TNCC

Hampton, VA - The #5 Nationally Ranked Apprentice School Baseball Team sent their Seniors out on a positive note Tuesday defeating Thomas Nelson Community College by a score of 12-2.  It was an emotinonal day that saw family, friends, alumni and staff gather for food, fun  and to honor the young men who have carried on the tradition of Builders Baseball each of their four seasons.  The win guarrentees Apprentice the #1 seed in next week's New South Atheltic Conference and keeps them ranked in the top five nationally in the USCAA.

Sophomore Riggs Ellis made a statement for his Senior teamamtes, finishing the game 3-5, with four runs, while Freshman Camden Weston was responsible for driving in four runs on the day.  In adddition, Junior Jake Day drive in three runs, to help give the Seniors their final home win.  On the mound, Senior Andrew Castine pitched his final game at Hisstoric War Memorial Stadium, giving up only 3 hits and no runs.  His performance earned him the win, while four other pitchers came in to releive him. 

The Builders will open the NSAC Tournament on Tuesday, May 10th against Mid-Atlantic Christian University.  This is their first year competitng in the tournament and they will look to add another trophy to their crowded case.  In the meantime, the Apprentice Seniors will soak in their final home win, but know they still have unfinished business to take care off.
