NEWPORT NEWS - The 2023 Apprentice School Athletics Hall of Fame Weekend details were released Wednesday morning, highlighted by the annual induction ceremony on Friday, September 29.

The weekend's festivities will start with a golf tournament to be held Thursday afternoon (September 28) at Cypress Creek. The shotgun start will be at 1 p.m. with all proceeds going to the new Hall of Fame display to be installed at Building 1919 this fall.

On Friday night, the six-person class will be inducted into the Apprentice School Athletics Hall of Fame in a special ceremony to be held at the Holiday Inn Newport News - Hampton on Omni Boulevard. More details on the time of the ceremony will be released next week.

The weekend culminates with the class being recognized at halftime of the football game on Saturday, September 30, as the Builders host Daytona Elite Academy at a 1 p.m. kickoff. Tickets for the game are now on sale at GoBuilders.com.

Tickets to play in the golf tournament as well as tickets for the induction ceremony will go on sale next week. Sponsorship opportunities for the golf tournament, induction ceremony and entire weekend will also be made available as tickets go on sale. More details on those opportunities will be announced alongside the tickets going live.

The six person Hall of Fame Class of 2023 includes David Barlow, Jim Bundick, Jim Heath, George Rhodes, Bruce Shumaker and Horace Underwood.
