NEWPORT NEWS - As part of Wednesday's doubleheader at The Apprentice School, Apprentice, Tidewater Community College and Virginia Peninsula Community College partnered together for the Third Annual Toy Drive, donating to local charities in Hampton Roads.

This year, the Builder, Storm and Gator communities came together to donate over 600 toys to two local charities, the JK Foundation and the Alive Church Dream Center. The number set a new record, shattering last year's record of 400 toys.

The JK Foundation honors the legacy of Jamie Kelly by providing support to grieving families and creating a community of families united by loss and empowered by the memories and values of their loved ones. The Alive Church Dream Center exists to meet the practical needs of people so that they can dream again. It is available to anyone in the community in need, offering free groceries, hygiene supplies and other essential items.

The first Toy Drive was in 2023 as AS and VPCC gave 250 toys to the GiveBack Foundation.
