NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School Director of Athletics
Jeff Egnot has announced the hiring of
Jacob Mullins to take over as the Assistant Athletic Director, Communications. Mullins will replace
Walker McCrary, who is resigning on June 12.

As we look forward to the future, I am confident that Jacob will continue our growth externally while also continuing to ensure that we are compliant with our governing bodies."
Mullins joins Builder nation after spending the last two-and-a-half years as the Director of Athletics at the Albemarle School in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. There he directed all athletic operations, budgeting, scheduling and facility management, ensuring alignment with institutional policies and safety standards. He also oversaw compliance and eligibility documentation as well as led strategic planning for program growth.
Prior to his time at Albemarle, Mullins was the Associate Athletic Director, Compliance and Internal Relations at Elizabeth City State, directing compliance operations for the 11 programs at ECSU. He also managed student-athlete eligibility certification and functioned as Interim Sports Information Director.
Mullins also spent six years as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Internal Relations at Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, eight years as Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Information and Compliance at Bryn Mawr and six months as Assistant Director of Athletics - Athletic Communications at Gallaudet.
Mullins graduated from Lynchburg in 2004 with a Bachelor's in Sports Management before getting his Master's degree in Sports Administration from Ball State in 2005.
Mullins began his work for Apprentice in early May.
