HAMPTON, Va. - The Apprentice School Builders finished 5th overall in the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division All-Sports Survey for the 2025-26 athletic year with a 65.73 winning percentage for all sports.
Christopher Newport University captured the top spot for the third consecutive year with a record of 242-86-8 and a winning percentage of 73.21%. Washington & Lee was second after a combined 228-86-9 mark (71.98%). Lynchburg was third with a combined 256-127-6 mark (66.58%), followed by Batten at 239-121-4 (66.21%) and The Apprentice School at 94-49 (65.73%) to round out the top five.
Men's sports saw Virginia Union with the best percentage winning 79.1% of its contests (34-9), with Christopher Newport in second at 71.96% (104-39-5) and The Apprentice School at 70.47% (74-31).
In women's sports, Washington & Lee had the best mark with a 129-28-3 record (81.56%), followed by Christopher Newport with a 138-47-3 record (74.20%) and Batten finished with a 140-55-3 mark (71.46%).
National championships were captured in NCAA Division III by Mary Washington men's basketball and The Apprentice School's baseball team in the USCAA.
VaSID names all-state teams each year, as well as an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a University or Conference in the state of Virginia.
