YORK, Pa. - The Apprentice School women's wrestling team saw
Ida Pellei take down fifth place in the New Standard Invitational this weekend at York College.
Wrestling at 160, Pellei opened the tournament with a tough loss to the eventual champion of the weight class. She bounced back, however, winning a pair of matches before falling in the consolation semifinal, putting her in the fifth place match, which she won via forfeit.
Siddie Hoffen also had an impressive showing, going 2-2 in the 180 bracket. Hoffen took down York's Ashley Knapp in the opening match before dropping her quarterfinal matchup. She responded with a win over Delaware Valley's Katie Martin in the consolation bracket, but fell in her next match to finish at 2-2.
The women take to the mats next Saturday in a dual against Greensboro on the road.
