NEWPORT NEWS - Earlier this year, The Apprentice School Director of Wrestling
Micah Amrozowicz promoted Chad Simmons to Head Women's Wrestling Coach.
Simmons, a former Apprentice wrestler, has served on staff since completing his wrestling career after the 2018-19 season. During his wrestling career, he was a two-time national runner-up and three-time All-American. He was named to the VaSID All-State team three times as well.
Over the course of his career, he finished 127-39, marking him with the fourth most wins all-time. In his senior season, he tallied 44 wins to be seventh in a single season and ranks 10th in career winning percentage.
Simmons worked on the women's staff as an assistant coach in its inaugural season last year.
