NEWPORT NEWS - The Apprentice School Department of Athletics has announced the new class of Hall of Famers to be inducted into the Apprentice Athletics Hall of Fame on September 18, 2026.

The class includes Wayne Kirby (Baseball), Frank Dillard (Men's Basketball), Buddy Denton (Baseball Coach), Colton Messick (Wrestling), Carl Bruso (Wrestling), Doug Green (Baseball) and the 1967 and 1968 track teams.

The Hall of Fame weekend festivities will kick off on Friday, September 18, at 8 a.m. for the Third Annual Hall of Fame Golf Tournament at Ocean View Golf Course. After the round, the celebration will continue at Paradise Ocean Club for the official induction ceremony, starting at 5:30 p.m. The weekend concludes with the Builder football team taking on Moravian Saturday at 1 p.m., where the inductees will be celebrated at halftime of the game.
