MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - Last weekend, The Apprentice School women's wrestling team wrapped up their first event of the season at Mount Olive with four wrestlers finishing in the top four of their weight classes.
Finishing on top of the podium at 131 pounds was Jordyn Anderson. After starting with a win by fall in her opening match, she won a tight decision in the semifinals before pinning her opponent in the championship in just 51 seconds.
Skylar Schaefer finished in second at 124 pounds, winning her first two matches by technical fall and pinfall, respectively, before dropping a 14-6 decision in the championship bout.
Kaylee Campbell (110 pounds) and
Ida Pellei (145 pounds) each finished in fourth place in their weight classes with Pellei winning three straight matches to get to the third place final.
Gwen Matt went 2-2 on the weekend at 138 pounds, while
Siddie Hoffen (180) and Janyla Anderson (117) each went 1-2.
The women are in action this weekend at the Liberty Dual Tournament.
